After the deadly mass shooting that took place in Christchurch, killing 52 people, New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardem stated that the country will ban all private citizens from owning semi-automatic and automatic rifles and has implemented a massive buyback scheme.In 2016, the Indian Government had tightened the already strict gun regulations in the country. The law now requires that in addition with normal firearms such as handguns and shotguns, license will also be required for paintball guns, air pistols and blank firing guns.The U.S. has also seen massive protests in support of gun regulations after mass shootings have increased at an alarming rates, taking lives of hundreds.Countries like Switzerland allow private citizens to keep weapons after they complete their compulsory military service.
